New York attorney general Letitia James is busy preparing to seize former President Donald Trump’s golf course and private estate in Westchester County, known as Seven Springs. President Trump has just four more days to pay the $464-million bond in the New York civil fraud trial.

The Biden administration has announced that it will cancel roughly $6 billion in federal student loans. The latest group to benefit includes 78,000 former students who went on to become public service workers such as teachers, nurses, and firefighters.

Congressional leaders have unveiled the second set of spending bills to fund the government through fiscal year 2024. Lawmakers have to pass the $1.2-trillion package by midnight on Friday to avert a partial shutdown.

Senate Republicans have said they want to pass the “Laken Riley Act” as an amendment to the government funding bills. The Act would require ICE to detain illegal immigrants charged with theft. It would also allow states to sue the federal government if it doesn’t enforce certain aspects of immigration law.
