New York City has seized more than 1.7 million counterfeit N95 masks from a Long Island City warehouse. It’s one of the biggest single seizures of personal protective equipment since the pandemic started. The warehouse manager faces up to 15 years in jail.
Now the Department of Homeland Security is also investigating a massive counterfeit N95 mask operation.
Authorities say fake masks are dangerous because they give frontline workers a false sense of security.
