There’s heated debate in China over comments a prominent Chinese virologist made recently. He says China needs to learn to “coexist with the virus.”
Chinese state-run media is generally against the idea. Meanwhile, many academics say it should at least be discussed from a scientific standpoint. Some western scientists also say in the future, society may still need to coexist with the virus.
