Pecker Testimony Shows Conspiracy Charge in Trump Trial a ‘Farce’ as Buying Stories Normal Business Practice: Legal Expert

Day 7 of former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York wrapped up Thursday with former publisher David Pecker’s testimony. According to Jonathan Hullihan, the general counsel and director of legal operations at Citizens Defending Freedom, his testimony shows that District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s criminal conspiracy charge against President Trump is a “farce,” as Mr. Pecker said that buying stories is normal business practice. However, Mr. Pecker also reportedly testified that he was aware that what he was doing was unlawful—that a corporation was spending money in order to affect the outcome of an election.
