West Virginia State Treasurer Explains Rationale Behind State’s Bank Blacklist

A number of major banks have been blacklisted from West Virginia due to their environmental policies. The state’s treasurer, Riley Moore, says West Virginia is an extraction-industry state, and that it doesn’t want to do business with companies that don’t want to do business with its core industries. Fossil fuels are at the core of livelihoods across the state, and Moore says he just wants his state to be treated fairly.
