Shen Yun had two sold-out performances at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia on Feb. 9.

“It was spectacular, I can’t believe what I saw tonight,” said Therese Brennan.

Brennan, an oral surgeon, as well as the former VP at the Berks County Dental Society, was attracted by every aspect of the performance.

“The colors, the background, the music, the level of talent was incredible. It was overwhelming how amazing and talented [they were],” she added “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it, very different and unique.”

However, she was especially impressed by Shen Yun’s digital backdrop.

“Very interesting and different I’ve never seen anything like that in a show, and it really added another dimension and element to the performance. Very, very different,” said Brennan.

She was one of many in the audience who couldn’t stop praising the performance.

“I think they’re in perfect unison. I’ve not seen any of them mistakes, and I’m amazed at how high they can all jump,” said Randal Steinhoff.

“The biggest thing that stood out to me was, very synchronized, very disciplined,” said Jace Siciliano, sales director at Cybereason. “Learning all of the different types of culture, and the types of training that they do, to perform that type of dance in front of a large audience. It’s been wonderful.”

The audience said that they could feel its culture coming from the heart of the performers.

“The performers have a very high level of spirituality to them and I think that really comes out in their performance,” said Brennan.

“I can see a little spiritual attraction from the dancers, and maybe that’s what they call on for the motivation to do such a fine job,” added Steinhoff.

Knowing that this performance cannot be seen in China, Eric Lerner, a lawyer as well as the co-founder and partner at Bezark Lerner & De Virgilis, express his regret and hope that people in China can see the performance one day.

“I think it’s a shame,” he added. “I think that most of China should be able to see this. It’s wonderful, it really is.”

Siciliano added: “I hope more people come to see it and get to experience the value of the show and the education as well.”
