Americans are showing support for Ukraine at all levels of government.
On March 2, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan held a solidarity vigil for Ukraine, with the country’s flag in the backdrop. The next day, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas granted all Ukrainians an 18-month stay in America regardless of their immigration status.
But some displays of support may have unintended consequences.
