US Sanctions Cuba Over Protest Crackdowns

President Joe Biden issued sanctions on a Cuban official and government entity Thursday for “serious human rights abuse.” It’s a direct response to the Cuban regime’s crackdown on the historic protests that have been taking place across the island. In doing so, the U.S. government reaffirms its support for the Cuban people in their fight against communism.
