US Commander: China Using ‘Boiling Frog’ Strategy

Beijing’s military activity is getting more dangerous. The warning comes from the outgoing head of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, John Aquilino. In an interview with the Financial Times, he said China follows a “boiling frog” strategy, meaning Beijing gradually cranks up tensions so that countries underestimate the danger of China’s threat—until it’s too late.
