The U.N. Security Council on Monday passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war, with the United States abstaining from the vote. Aryeh Lightstone, former special envoy for the Abraham Accords, says that by failing to veto the resolution, the United States is abandoning Israel at the U.N.
