The prime minister will on Tuesday face MPs for the first time since being fined for breaking COVID-19 regulations. He’s said he’ll make a statement in the Commons to “set the record straight” in any way that he can. He’s already apologised for having a “brief gathering” in June 2020 on his birthday that led him, along with his wife Carrie Johnson and the chancellor Rishi Sunak, to receive fixed penalty notices.
