Strict Lockdowns in China’s Xi’an Hit Day 12

Amid strict lockdown measures in China’s Xi’an city, a local reports that authorities struck his face with a brick for visiting his grandmother. The city has deployed almost 30,000 virus prevention personnel to the streets, in an effort to completely eliminate the pandemic in the city.

China promises to use less coal starting 2025. But ahead of that deadline, the country put its largest coal-fired power plant into operation, armed with an ambitious 2025 production goal.
