Somerset: Patients Can’t Get NHS Dentist

Residents in the entire county of Somerset are unable to register as new NHS dentist patients for routine care. The situation has become so bad the NHS has set up a phoneline to help people access emergency dental care. About a third of calls involve problems accessing NHS dentistry, with many concerning children, pregnant women, and those who can’t afford private care.
