Audience Member Calls Shen Yun’s Blend of Visuals and Artistry ‘Seamless’

Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded two performances at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, Tennessee, over the weekend. Audience members said they loved Shen Yun’s artistry.

“Loved it. It was beautiful in every way,” said Timothy Potter, who is a physician.

“It’s a great show. It’s the second time we’re here and we really enjoy it every time we come,” said Milton Ulua, sales director at Antronix.

“Very fascinating to watch the dancing and the way they moved and the storytelling, too. I liked how it was mixed together,” said Peter Lutrick, director of quality at International Paper.

“The connection between the dance and the video and the digital portions were very well done. They were seamless,” said Charlie Black, owner of Black Construction Company.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture from before communism. Ancient Chinese people believed it was inspired by the divine.

“That we’re all one family and we need to love and respect each other and our beliefs,” said Mr. Lutrick.

“I especially love the philosophy and the understanding of God and heaven,” said Mr. Potter.

“It’s saddening to me that that occurred and I hope that we can be … freed somehow or other from the scourge of that type of government and that type of control over people. The strength and the joy in life comes from the individual and I believe that,” said Mr. Black.

“I think they need to keep up doing the work over there. Hopefully one day they’ll be able to perform in their own country,” said Mr. Ulua.

Shen Yun Performing Arts shares an all new program every season, including new dances, music, songs, and backdrops.

“It was just beautiful, the whole event was just gorgeous. It was spectacular,” said Laura Lutrick, development director at Parkinson’s Foundation TNKY.

“I’d like to say if you have a chance to come see it, please do. Because you’re really going to enjoy it,” said Mr. Ulua.

“You all are amazing and we’ll be back next year,” said Mr. Lutrick.

Shen Yun is set to perform in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts on Jan. 30 and 31.
