‘Absolutely Amazing’ Jacksonville Audience Left in Awe After Seeing Shen Yun

February 5, 2024

Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded two performances in Jacksonville, Florida, on Jan. 30 and 31. Audience members praised Shen Yun’s artistry.

“This is the first time I’ve seen this. It’s absolutely amazing, the choreography. And I really like the spiritual aspect of the show,” said Jim Clements, who works as a private investigator.

“It’s amazing. It’s a wonderful show, I love the music. It’s amazing to see what the performers can do. They’re just so energetic,” said David Sistek, a retired IT manager from Merrill Lynch.

“I like the show. Actually, years ago, maybe 10 years ago, I watched [it]. I think you guys are changing every year so I want to catch up again,” said Sel Buyuk, co-founder of River City Science Academy.

Shen Yun artists aim to revive traditional Chinese culture from before communism. Theatergoers appreciated seeing those values brought to life.

“I think it’s wonderful that we get a chance to be exposed to something that we might possibly not be able to see if we were in China,” said Carol Barry, a retired national accounts manager for the board of directors of Save A Leg.

“It’s such an incredible culture going back 5,000 years,” said Bob Arif, a retired senior mechanic engineer at Curtis Wright.

“Never forget about your past, learn from them. And keep your culture and learn from your background,” said Mr. Buyuk.

“It was an amazing exhibit of the true culture of China and over the thousands and thousands of years before communism took over. It was beautiful. It really expressed the true culture of the land, it was wonderful to see,” said Michael Manos, the owner of Manos Pool Construction.

“We have to recognize that modern society has roots in the previous society, in ancient societies. There is a lot of wisdom that has come forward that has helped us become what we are today. It’s important,” said Mr. Sistek.

Shen Yun Performing Arts brings an all-new program each season, including new dances, music, songs, and backdrops.

“Thank you so much. It was a blessing to be here and see you all perform. Thank you,” said Manos.

“The choreography and the beauty of [Shen Yun], it’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen, I highly recommend it,” said Mr. Clements.

Mirilene Rabelo, a retired police officer, just could not get enough of Shen Yun.

“It’s amazing, I can’t believe they have something like that. I don’t have words to describe that. I want to do it again and again and more. How many times is it possible?”

Shen Yun will be performing at the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Feb. 3 and 4.
