PHILADELPHIA, Penn.—Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company finished its last of 25 sold-out performances on Feb. 3 at the historic Merriam Theater.

“It sweeps you away,” said Shawn McShea, Business Owner. “It takes you to another place. It’s really quite amazing.”

The colorful costumes and captivating backgrounds brought the production together for the audience, combining with the live orchestra and storytelling through dance to create an immersive experience.

“It’s a great story,” said McShea. “It really absorbs you into it. You find yourself lost within the story. It’s wonderful.”

Refreshing Experience

Thomas Cooney, Principal of A&E Group, said the performance left him feeling refreshed.

“It’s really refreshing,” said Cooney. “It’s actually a refreshing show. You’re seeing a whole different light.

“I’m surprised at the clarity and the effortlessness of the entire cast, and how they are presenting the show,” he said.

Shen Yun’s performers portray stories from ancient times up until today.

“When you see what was on the stage, it was unbelievable,” said Franz-Josef Ulmschneider, Senior Director Operations at Hoppecke. “All of the centuries they go through, and you know a little bit of their history. So it’s unbelievable. It’s amazing.”

“The music was phenomenal, phenomenal,” said Ulmschneider.
