ST. PAUL, Minn.—Shen Yun Performing Arts has finished its four days at Ordway Center in St. Paul Minnesota, completing its last performance on Feb. 17. Audience members were glad to share their positive experiences.

“My experience was fantastic,” Mark Herzog, a project manager at a Fortune 500 Company. “I came in not really knowing what to expect. Had no background in the show, and absolutely loved it.”

“The music, I was telling my wife when we walked down I got caught up in the music, and the colors, and the dance and the whole Chinese history around the dance,” said Herzog. “I had no perspective coming in, and I was overwhelmed by it.”

“Especially at the end, when the creator was portrayed it kind of brought the whole story together for me and kind of brought a different light in the culture,” he said.

“I would just say that if you have a chance to go, I would certainly go,” said Herzog. “I look forward to coming back next year.”

Making the Connection

Management Administrator JP Aeur at the Minnesota Department of Transportation was impressed with the overall production and different aspects of the performance.

“The music is fabulous,” said Aeur. “It’s hard to put my finger on it. It’s moving, it’s uplifting and it’s enjoyable. The orchestra’s excellent. I have great seats I’m right down front, so it’s worked well for me.”

According to its website, Shen Yun Performers look to the divine as inspiration, striving to uplift and bring joy to those that experience it.

“I see the connection and that’s what resonated with me today,” said Aeur. “So, it doesn’t matter which culture you’re from. I see that over and over again. People want that.”

“I really like the idea of reviving any kind of historical connections,” said Aeur. “Connections with the past, because it shows the sameness between people from the past and the people from today.”

“Throughout history, people want this connection,” he said. “So for this troupe to be able to pull that together and present it to the people of the world, I think it is great.”

The performance came highly recommended.

“Come to this play, or to this show, this dancing is amazing,” said Aeur. “And you will not regret spending a penny, or a dollar or how much ever it costs you to get here. Do it.”
