SEC Fines Companies Tied to Chinese Exile

The U.S. stock market regulator is fining three companies affiliated with an exiled Chinese billionaire.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued the penalty on Monday over the companies’ illegal unregistered stock and digital asset offerings.

The three firms agreed to pay over $500 million to settle but didn’t admit to or deny the accusation.
