A tiny owl is now on the mend after hitching a ride into New York City on the Rockefeller tree.

It’s a Saw-whet, the smallest kind of owl in the northeast. A worker found the owl nestled among the branches of the 75-foot tall tree.

Despite no food or water for days, the little fellow is now on the mend. He’s currently recovering at the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center.

The tree traveled all the way from Oneonta, New York.

Once fully nursed back to health, the owl is set to be released back into the wild.

The center named the little owl Rockefeller, after the tree.
