Even as Senate negotiators are trying to work out a bipartisan plan to deal with the border crisis, some Republicans are now trying to use leverage elsewhere to meet their demands. Some bluntly said to shut down the border or shut down the government as Congress is coming up on a fast-approaching deadline for funding the government.
