Every year, visitors flock to World War I memorials in northern France and Belgium to pay tribute to the fallen. This year, as Armistice Day approaches, travel and other COVID-19 restrictions are still keeping foreign visitors away. Many institutions that rely on this remembrance tourism have struggled to stay open during the pandemic.
