Normally, you would think of water flowing out of the end of a hose when you see something like this, but when the flow is made of molten rock, and exiting out of Hawaii’s famous Kilauea volcano it’s red hot lava instead.
A tourist boat came across such a “fire hose” pouring off of a black cliffside into the ocean, and the tourists were able to witness an astonishing display of mini-eruptions and clouds of steams.
The tourists seemed to enjoy this spectacular phenomenon. Although it is an one-in-a-lifetime event and can be quite beautiful, do remember that getting too close can be dangerous, and Mother Nature has a fury all her own.
