The company behind this jet pack is called JetPack Aviation, and they are currently in their crowdfunding stage for mass production. Although until now it’s just a functional prototype, it has successfully completed a series of flights in Monaco, London and California.
So if you’d like to own a personal aircraft capable of vertical take off and landing (VTOL), you can contribute to its realization. The jet pack is powered by small yet powerful jet turbines, and will lift you up to 10,000 feet above ground and reach speeds of 68 miles an hour. Unfortunately the fuel tank holds only enough fuel for ten minutes of flight time, so far…
And there’s another slight drawback, though you may order one now, production will not start before next year—and it’ll set you back $250,000 dollars.
On the other hand, when you want to operate a helicopter you need at least 150 training hours, other than needing a helicopter, you need a lot of space to take off and land. With the jet pack however you don’t—you’ll be able to learn everything in about three hours and you can put it in the back of your car if you’re not able to start in your backyard.
If you want to step in and pre-order your very personal aircraft, you’ll be among some of the first private orders placed, and if you invest a mere $50,000 you’ll get a tethered flight (you probably wont be able to operate it in free flight without some training hours) and 25 percent discount off your order.
