Former President Donald Trump was formally booked at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday after he presented himself to authorities around 7:36 p.m. local time.
The former president was booked in a process that took about 20 minutes, after which he was released on a $200,000 bond. The booking process involved fingerprinting and having his picture taken, making it the first-ever booking photo or mug shot taken of a U.S. president.
Online records from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office showed President Trump was booked on 13 charges related to allegations that a strategy by several lawyers counseling President Trump to set up alternate groups of electors in multiple states, thereby postponing the electoral vote count, amounted to a criminal enterprise.
President Trump’s jail record also showed an inmate number (P01135809), as well as other identifying information. His description is listed as a “White Male” at 6 foot 3 inches (190.5 centimeters) and 215 pounds (97.5 kilograms), with hair as “Blond or Strawberry” and eyes “Blue.”
The figures for his height and weight were posted prior to President Trump’s arrival at the Fulton County jail, and thus appear to be self-reported.

President Trump was given a deadline of 12 p.m. on Aug. 25 to voluntarily turn himself in, preventing potential arrest.
This comes after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Aug. 14 indicted him and 18 of his associates on various felony charges, among them a racketeering conspiracy stemming from attempts to challenge the official results of the 2020 election.
The jail later released President Trump’s booking photo.
The Fulton County case marks the fourth legal action against President Trump since March this year, when he became the first former president in the United States to be indicted.
After exiting the jail facility, President Trump traveled straight to the airport, where he briefly addressed the media.
“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice, we did nothing wrong, I did nothing wrong. And everybody knows it. I’ve never had such support. And that goes with the other ones too,” he said, referring to the three other indictments he’s facing.
He subsequently labeled the prosecutions as a maneuver by his political adversaries to jeopardize his 2024 campaign for office.
“What they’re doing is election interference. They’re trying to interfere with an election,” he said. “There’s never been anything like it in our country before. This is their way of campaigning.”
