Accusations of racism are everywhere these days, but it’s usually taboo to question the existence of racism itself. Yet Professor Eric Kaufmann does just that.
Kaufmann—an adjunct fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a professor of politics at the University of London—writes a very interesting and controversial report: “The Social Construction of Racism in the United States.” In it, he make the case that the public has a mistaken perception about how much racism actually exists in America today. He shows how perceptions of racism aren’t just formed from lived experience, but are created by things like exposure to media, social media and ideology.
