President Donald Trump will celebrate America’s history, people, and military heroes in his upcoming address at the “Salute to America” event for the Fourth of July.

The White House released excerpts of Trump’s prepared speech about an hour before he is expected to deliver the remarks at the Lincoln Memorial. His speech will focus on patriotism, the White House said previously.

“Today, we come together as one nation with this very special Salute to America,” Trump is expected to say, according to the remarks that were released in advance. “We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag—the brave men and women of the United States Military!”

“As we gather this evening in the joy of freedom, we remember that we all share a truly extraordinary heritage. Together, we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told—the story of America,” the president will say.

Thousands gathered earlier in the day to enjoy the Independence Day celebration, which included a parade on Constitution Avenue.

During his address, Trump is also expected to praise the U.S. military forces. “Today, just as it did 243 years ago, the future of American Freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it,” he will say.

“As long as we stay true to our cause—as long as we remember our great history—and as long as we never stop fighting for a better future—then there will be nothing that America cannot do.”

Along with Trump’s speech, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., the event will also feature military demonstrations, multiple aircraft flyovers, and music, paying tribute to America’s five service branches—the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy.

Trump’s speech will be followed by a concert on the U.S. Capitol lawn and fireworks, which is slated to be one of the longest July 4 fireworks events in Washington at about 35 minutes.

The president promoted the event on his Twitter multiple times.

“Our July 4th Salute to America at the Lincoln Memorial is looking to be really big. It will be the show of a lifetime!” Trump wrote on Twitter early on July 3.

Then on July 4, Trump said people were traveling from “far and wide” to join the events in the nation’s capital.

“People are coming from far and wide to join us today and tonight for what is turning out to be one of the biggest celebrations in the history of our Country, SALUTE TO AMERICA, an all day event at the Lincoln Memorial, culminating with large scale flyovers of the most modern and advanced aircraft anywhere in the World,” Trump wrote.

“Perhaps even Air Force One will do a low & loud sprint over the crowd. That will start at 6:00P.M., but be there early. Then, at 9:00 P.M., a great (to put it mildly) fireworks display. I will speak on behalf of our great Country!” he added.

The July 4th holiday celebrates the U.S. founders’ declaring independence from Britain in 1776.
