The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said late April 1 that it’s seeking a man named Eric Holder in connection to the fatal shooting of rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Around 3 p.m. on March 31, three men were standing in front of a business, The Marathon Clothing Company, owned by Hussle, in a strip mall off West Slauson Boulevard. Holder, according to the police, walked up to the men and started firing.
All three were struck by bullets.
Holder fled south through an alley to a waiting vehicle, identified as a white 2016 Chevy Cruze with four doors and a California license plate of 7RJD742.
The driver of the vehicle was a female who police have not yet identified.
Two of the victims were rushed to local hospitals while the third refused medical treatment. One of the victims, Hussle, whose given name was Ermias Asghedom, died as a result of the wounds he suffered.
Detectives said on April 1 that Holder, 29, was identified as the shooter. It wasn’t clear if he had a criminal history.

Got Into Argument
Law enforcement didn’t officially say what officials believe led to the shooting.
But law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that Holder got into a dispute with Hussle before the shooting.
Detectives believe Holder has gang ties but think the motive was personal as opposed to being part of a larger gang feud.
Just before the shooting, Hussle wrote on Twitter, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”
The shooting took place a day before the rapper was scheduled to meet with LAPD Chief Michel Moore and Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff “to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids,” Soboroff said.
Hussle was a member of the Rollin’ 60s, a Crips gang clique, as a teenager.
