A small plane crashed at an Atlanta-area apartment complex on Oct. 30, authorities said.

At least one person died, WSB-TV reported, authorities said a team is currently working on finding a second person.

The DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) said on Twitter crews were responding to a “possible plane crash” near the I-85 highway.

A photo published by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows an apartment building with a large section of its wall and part of the roof knocked out.

Debris was found about 500 feet away from the scene, WSB-TV reporter Audrey Washington said on Twitter.

The Piper PA-28 plane crashed shortly after taking off from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport outside Atlanta around 10:30 a.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said on Twitter.

Authorities have not determined what could have caused the plane to crash.

The DKPD said on Twitter they will have more updates as they come.

Pilot Died in Small Plane Crash in New Jersey

A small plane crashed through the roof of a home on Oct. 29, killing the pilot and causing an explosion that set two houses ablaze in a New Jersey suburb of New York City.

No one was in the home that the Cessna 414 crashed into, but flames spread to another house, where a woman escaped injury, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac said.

The plane went down not far from an elementary school at about 11 a.m., according to National Transportation Safety Board investigator Adam Gerhardt.

The crash sent flames into the air, belched smoke for hours and left neighbors thinking the earth was shaking.
