“The city and state literally dangle these licenses in front of our faces and say, if you do anything wrong, or most of the time when we’re not even wrong, if you do anything, if we come in, we will take your licenses and fined you tens of thousands of dollars. And at this point, we had nothing left to lose. We said if this is how it’s going to be you could have your license back because you’re not going to dangle it in front of our faces when we’ve lost literally almost everything,” said Danny Presti, co-owner of Mac’s Public House.
“We’re still being safe, I still have all the contact tracing logs inside that they recommend that we have. We’re doing all temperature checks for every single person that comes in, I have cleaning procedures for everything. It’s not like we’ve gone completely rogue and said, ‘we’re not listening to anything you say.’ We understand that this is a virus and all this. But when you can pack out other stores, and we’re not allowed to do business, it’s no longer fair.”
