Nicolas Cage filed for divorce with his wife after a reported four days with her.

According to The Blast, the actor filed to annul his marriage Erika Koike, a makeup artist, in March 2019. According to Cage’s annulment, he admitted that both the actor and Koike were too intoxicated to know what he was doing.

According to PEOPLE, the two had initially filed for a marriage license on March 23 and got their license on the same day. Four days later, the two both decided that the marriage was a mistake. It was uncertain as to what happened in those four days together, but TMZ reported that the two had an argument just before they got married.

The court documents stated that Cage acted impulsively and did not recognize the full extent of his actions when Koike suggested that they should get married.

“There are grounds for this court to grant an annulment because [Cage] lacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage. Prior to obtaining a marriage license and participating in a marriage ceremony, [Cage] and [Koike]  were both drinking to the point of intoxication,” the court documents read.

The court documents went on to say that Cage believed fraud had occured in that Koike did not disclose the full extent of her relationship with someone else.

“There are additional grounds to grant an annulment because [Cage’s] consent to marriage was obtained by fraud in that prior to her marriage to [Cage,] [Koike] did not disclose to [Cage] the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person,” the court records read.

In addition, the documents stated that Koike did not disclose her criminal history, something that Cage learned of afterward.

According to The Blast, Koike was involved in a DUI charge in Las Vegas back in 2018, and when Cage found out, he demanded that she leave his house, although he made arrangements for her to stay elsewhere.

TMZ reported that Koike responded in kind by saying Cage’s actions didn’t qualify for an annulment. In response to Cage’s files for fraud, Koike alleged that Cage had asked her to start again “in the right way” 12 days after he filed the annulment, which she claims is evidence that their marriage wasn’t based on fraud.

While Koike agrees that they aren’t fit for marriage, she wants spousal support. According to her documents, she alleged that she lost career opportunities during her relationship with Cage, and because of Cage’s filing for annulment, her reputation has been tarnished.

People reported that the two have kept their relationship relatively private, despite being seen vacationing together in Puerto Rico back in April 2018. The pair were photographed together when they went to dinner in Los Angeles in May 2018.

Cage’s Past Marriages

PEOPLE reported that Cage was married three more times before this four-day marriage to Koike.

Back in 1995, he married actress Patricia Arquette. Although they married in 1995 when she was 27, it was reported that he had proposed to her much earlier than that. According to the media outlet, he first proposed to her the day they met, back when she was only 18.

Their marriage lasted six years before the two separated in January 2000.

Rumour started up about their marriage claiming that two separated a lot earlier, but in an interview in 2015, the actress confirmed that the two were together throughout their marriage. She said that throughout their careers, they’ve had fights, and those resulted in them not living together for some time. However, there were times when they didn’t live together purely because of personal reasons, such as her mother’s cancer in 1997, or that Cage was out filming a movie.

After his marriage to Arquette, he married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, in August 2000 while being estranged from Arquette. However, his marriage to Presley only lasted a mere three months, but because of divorce proceedings, the marriage wasn’t officially over until two years later.

Presley said in a statement that the marriage was a mistake. Although she was sad about it, the marriage shouldn’t have happened to begin with. Cage did not comment on his marriage with Presley.

His third marriage was with Alice Kim, a waitress in a Los Angeles restaurant. They met back in 2004, and two months after they first meet, the two got engaged, and Cage married Kim on a ranch in Northern California. That marriage lasted 12 years before they separated in January 2016.
