Macy’s unveiled the new additions to its annual New York City Thanksgiving Day Parade on Monday.
Two new balloons are joining the lineup: The Boss Baby and Red Titan from “Ryan’s World.”
“This year, we’re so excited to be introducing The Boss Baby—really great balloon—as well as Red Titan from Ryan’s World. We also have some fabulous floats this year: Jennie O will have a Turkey Spectacular,” said Executive Producer Susan Tercero.
New floats include a tribute to women in STEM, and a Tom & Jerry float ahead of an upcoming movie.
But this year, there will be no packed crowds along Manhattan’s sixth avenue. For pandemic safety reasons, the public can catch a glimpse only on TV.
The NYPD will turn away anyone who tries to gather at the production location: Manhattan’s Herald Square.
Macy’s says the number of people involved in the parade this year is down significantly.
Despite the adjustments, 2020 marks the parade’s 94th year running.
