Police departments across the nation are challenging each other to a lip-sync battle after a Texas sheriff’s deputy posted a lip sync video last month of a song called “Fuiste Mala” by the group The Kumbia Kings, reported KTVU.
Since then, the battle of the lip-sync has spread over the country, even the San Francisco division of the California Highway Patrol invited its mascot Chipper the chipmunk to its performance of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also released its shot Tuesday on its Facebook page. The officers created their own mash-up with “Safe and Sound” by a band called Capital Cities and Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”
And it seems like law enforcement still did its job while having fun and connecting with the communities by writing, “Help us ‘lift you up’ and be a part of our amazing department, we are hiring! Help people ‘Stay safe and sound,’ and remember ‘haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.'” And surely, they didn’t forget to challenge their neighbor Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Among all the challenge takers, the Norfolk Police Department is the outstanding one so far with a record of 50 million views and over 1 million shares by lip-syncing “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars.
The challenge has also raised people’s attention on social media platforms, waiting patiently and even cheering for the law enforcement they support, while the police are literally sweating from thought of responding to the battle.
