Los Angeles Police Department has released body-cam footage of an officer-involved shooting that took place in Pacoima, on August 19, involving many officers. The suspect was mortally wounded.
LAPD officers responded to a call of domestic violence in the 13000 block of Ottoman Street near Bartee Ave in the Arleta-Pacoima neighborhood at about 4:35 p.m. Officers engaged with a man, identified as Carlos Torres Jr. on the front porch of the house.
Suddenly, Torres pulled a gun, spurring a shootout. He retreated into a house and then ran out of the house and across the street.
There has been an Officer-Involved Shooting in Pacoima, in the area of Ottoman St and Bartee Ave. A Public Information Officer is responding to the scene and we will provide more details as they become available.

The released body-cam footage shows the alleged suspect running with police officers in pursuit while shooting at his back. A second shooting ensues after Torres goes into an alley. Torres got mortally wounded and died while being arrested.
When paramedics from the LA fire department arrived on the scene, Torres was already deceased.
Police retrieved a .22 caliber handgun found at the scene. Apart from Torres, no casualties were reported.
“Investigators and detectives are going to be there all night,” LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said, indicating the investigation was ongoing, the Daily News reported.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed Metro Division Officers Wende Kerl and Larry Deal were responding to two separate 911 phone calls. The first of which claimed Franklin had entered the restaurant, walked behind the counter, and pointed his gun at an employee at about 9 a.m. local time.
Kerl and Deal arrived on the scene just four minutes after receiving the 911 call at 9:04 a.m. They exited their vehicle and approached Franklin, who was squatting next to the open front passenger door of a burgundy Honda Accord.

Franklin slowly moved his right hand into what appeared to be his pocket, pulled out the gun, and lowered it to the ground.
Kerl opened fire twice before the weapon touched the ground. Franklin, who appeared to be shocked by the gunfire, turned towards Kerl and, according to WSBTV, said, “You told me to put it …” before collapsing on the asphalt.
