The Japanese island of Okinawa on Sunday marked fifty years since the United States ended its occupation. The anniversary signals a pivotal moment in the country’s return to normality after World War II. But there are renewed fears the East China Sea island chain will become a battlefield once again. This time the threat is coming from communist China.
