Italy Plans for $4.5 Billion in Funding to Boost Chipmaking

With supply chain concerns in mind—Italy is set to boost its semiconductor manufacturing. The small devices, more commonly known as microchips, function as the brain for virtually all electronics—from fighter jets to iPhones.

Italy is looking to ramp up its production by attracting more investment from tech companies—like U.S.-based giant Intel.
