NTD and The Epoch Times will livestream the International Religious Freedom Summit 2022 panel “Pandemic, Persecution, and Pushback—Trends and Analysis from the Suppression of Falun Gong” on June 30, 2022, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. ET. Access the livestream on this page, and also at EpochTV.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient mind-and-body meditation practice based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. It was introduced to the public in China for the first time in 1992. The practice was vastly popular in China in the 1990s, but came under a nationwide persecution under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1999. In the decades since, millions of Falun Gong adherents in China have been arrested and subject to various forms of abuse designed to decimate their faith.

The Falun Dafa Information Center will introduce its new special report, covering the CCP’s past two years of oppression in China and around the world. Featuring notable experts and eyewitnesses, the panel will give updates on the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong through the pandemic, highlight forced organ harvesting evidence, discuss transnational repression of Falun Gong, and provide policy recommendations to end the atrocities and secure a more free and just China.

Panelists

  • Levi Browde, executive director of Falun Dafa Information Center
  • Nicholas Haley, researcher at Falun Dafa Information Center
  • Yu Han, victim of father’s forced organ harvesting
  • Simon Zhang, son of woman tortured to death in China
