Inflation Soars to 40-Year High: 9 Percent

Consumer Prices inflation rose to 9 percent as soaring energy bills put millions of households under pressure—mostly due to high oil and gas prices on the international markets, as well as the war in Ukraine affecting both fuel and food supplies. It’s the fastest increase in the cost of living in four decades.
