Inappropriate Banned Books Still Widely Available in School Libraries, Analyst Finds

Are so-called banned books really banned? A recent push by parents and lawmakers to ban unsuitable and inappropriate books from classrooms seems to have had very little effect.

James Fishback, the founder of Incubate Debate, surveyed several major school libraries and found that many of those controversial books are quite widely available—and far more widely than their ideological counterparts.

“For all the talk about book-banning in this country, there’s actually a systematic exclusion of books that don’t align with progressive orthodoxy in our school libraries,” he said.
