Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) spoke with NTD congressional correspondent Melina Wisecup on Friday about his views on some Democratic lawmakers’ criticism of the Israeli military operations in Gaza that have caused civilian casualties.
The terrorist group Hamas has taken Palestinians in Gaza hostage and uses them as shields, Mr. Hoyer said, which has left Israel with very few options other than to notify people to leave in order to target Hamas and protect the Israeli people.
“Hamas is a terrorist group that has put the Palestinian people at risk, knowingly,” Mr. Hoyer said. “I think all the people who make comments ought to be thoughtful and understand the challenge that Israel faces.”
