Over the weekend, Shen Yun Performing Arts delivered over 10 performances in four different cities across the United States and Europe.

The mayors of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Greeley, Colorado, issued proclamations to the performers.

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, for an incredible show. Today was not just a show of beauty. It was a show of culture and richness,” said Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey.

Gainey was attending a Shen Yun performance at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.

“It was beautiful in many ways,” he added. “I’m glad I made it today. I’m glad I made it. I’m glad you had it here. And I think that the more people that will see that, they would be inspired.”

“I’m really very happy that the show came to Greeley,” said Congressman Ken Buck, who watched the performance in Greeley, Colorado.

“It’s really heartwarming. It was a beautiful performance, beautiful dance, and the music was beautiful,” he said. “But what I really loved about it was the cultural aspect of how Chinese culture was displayed and accepted by the audience. I really felt that it was a special moment here to see that.”

He said Shen Yun’s positive message can uplift people’s spirits, especially in the midst of a pandemic.

“It was such a positive message that was given. The song about what’s so important on Earth and there are things that are more important than what we do here on Earth,” he added. “We are challenged right now with the pandemic, and because we’re challenged in other ways that are very serious matters going on in the world, and there are serious issues here at home, and I think people are depressed and really searching for something positive, and this performance was very positive and uplifting.”

“I really enjoyed the power of overcoming—that message of overcoming. The whole situation where you never give up, it’s thought-provoking,” said Gainey.

Gainey said he appreciates Shen Yun’s mission to bring back China before communism.

“What you’ve seen in there is the divine, and the divine entity that you brought up in regards to China never should be destroyed. Matter of fact, it should be celebrated because it’s the birth of civilization and how it started,” said Gainey. “So when we talk about that divine being, when we talk about the history, we talk about the culture. No one can grow up if they don’t know it, so I’m glad that you presented it today.”

“You use your divine inner spirit to continue to grow even in the midst of adversity that came through lords. And I really appreciated that message,” he added.

In Poland, the mayor of Torun and the marshal of Kujawy-Pomerania province came to see the performance.

The mayor of the city of Torun, Michal Zaleski, said Shen Yun dancers are world-class.

“The coordination of their movements on stage, themselves coordinated with the beautiful music, gave the impression that the performance was floating in the air,” Zaleski said.

“These performances cannot be shown in China. I hope that [Shen Yun’s] performances and determination, whether in New York, the United States, in Europe, or around the world, will bring back normalcy to China,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “We wish them luck!”

Because of high demand, organizers added one more show in Poland.
