Former IRS Agent Says Revenue Service Often Targets Certain Groups

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Aug. 10 ordered the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) not to send tax enforcers to audit households making less than $400,000 per year.

That’s after concerns were raised that a massive funding boost to the agency would be used to crack down on middle-income Americans.

A former IRS agent says the revenue service does target certain groups if they receive such an order from lawmakers.
