Breakfast is an important meal to get right. We need a good balance of complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, good fats, amino acids, and antioxidants. Why? Because our body does not produce these nutrients. We need to add them to our diet.

In terms of breakfast, pancakes are one of those things we eat all the time; they’re especially popular in North America. But more often than not, we use pancake shaker mixes. These are convenient but quite unhealthy! They contain sugar and refined wheat, not to mention extra preservatives, colors, and flavors. It’s not the best way to start the day. You might as well eat a doughnut, which pretty much has zero nutritional value.

On this episode of Eat Better, we’re going to make pancakes with whole ingredients and top it off with some healthy extras. In other word’s we’ll ditch the sugary pancake syrup, the chocolate sauce, and jam and use nutritious ingredients only.
