By Jack Phillips

An actress who is the mother of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s three children was found dead at her home in California on Monday, according to police.

Josie Harris, 40, was found unresponsive in her vehicle, law enforcement officials told TMZ on Wednesday. Officers were called to her house at 9:30 p.m. before she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Officials do not suspect foul play in her death.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed an active investigation into Harris’s death, reported The Athletic.

The sheriff’s department has not responded to a request for comment.

Other than her relationship with Mayweather, Harris starred on the TLC reality show “Starter Wives Confidential.” Harris said Mayweather, an undefeated boxer, abused her several times, alleging that he attacked her in front of their children in 2010.

Mayweather was eventually convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery and later spent two months in jail in 2012.

The boxer told Katie Couric of Yahoo News in 2015 that he put his hands on Harris but said that she was under the influence.

“Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs?” he said at the time. “Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. I’m guilty of restraining someone.”

In the interview, he added that he was convicted because of his image.

Harris later filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against Mayweather, 43, after his interview. According to the TMZ report, the lawsuit is still ongoing after Mayweather filed an appeal. A trial date is set in December, The Blast reported.

Their oldest son, Koraun, testified against Mayweather at the time, providing a written statement to police about the incident.

“I just thanked [Koraun] because I didn’t know how long it was going to go on,” Harris told USA Today. “And I just feel like if he wouldn’t have gone to get the help that I may not even be able to be sitting here today.”

Mayweather has not issued a public statement on the death of Harris.
