New information recently unveiled by the FBI calls into question the argument that President Donald Trump caused the breach at the Capital. A House representative raised those facts during the impeachment hearing.
During the certification of electoral votes on Jan. 6, Trump gave a speech at a rally outside the Capitol building.
The building was breached shortly after and the crowd there descended into chaos. Claims that Trump’s speech directly caused the breach are now being used to support his impeachment.
