The Congressional-Executive Commission on China addressed the Chinese regime’s systematic and nonconsensual removal of organs during a panel discussion on March 20.
The main target of organ harvesting is people persecuted for their spiritual beliefs, like practitioners of Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa, is a spiritual practice based on the principles of truth, compassion, and forbearance. In 1999, there were reportedly 100 million people practicing in China—a number that surpassed the membership of the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese regime launched its persecution that year and targeted Falun Gong practitioners because they maintain a healthy lifestyle and don’t drink or smoke.
