Having a slingshot ride is thrilling, but it might not be suitable for everyone.
This man and his girlfriend decided to have a try on the slingshot ride. After they were catapulted into the air at a g-force of 3-5 Gs, the man passed out several times.
But this man’s reaction is not a special case. There are a lot of other viral videos which show riders passing out on the slingshot ride.
High-speed roller coasters might affect our brains, said Dr. Ghajar, a neurosurgeon at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York, and president of the Brain Trauma Foundation.
At 5 G’s, the rider will feel their weights are five times heavier. With the accelerating of speed, riders experience a sinking feeling and as the ride turns, it may throw their head from side to side, which has potential threat on the brain.
“If you feel something like a bad headache, or confusion, or dizziness when you get off the ride, get it checked out,” said Ghajar.
