Expert: Busing Illegal Immigrants to DC Gains Attention, but Likely Not Deterring Migrants

The sixth bus from Texas carrying illegal immigrants reportedly arrived in Washington late Sunday night.

The transfers, which started last week, are entirely voluntary. NGOs have been meeting the buses in Washington, helping to get the illegal immigrants to other transportation hubs and offering food.

The busing is part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s plan to deal with an expected influx of illegal immigrants when the Biden administration ends pandemic border restrictions on May 23.
