Self-described paper engineer Matthew Shlian says there is almost nothing he can not do with his paper art mastery. His tools are plotters and laser cutters from which he then assembles countless pieces to create geometric masterpieces.
Shlian typically looks to integrate motion into his art, creating movement in plant-like structures, and suspending his creations in mid-air.
Shlian teaches at the University of Michigan and collaborates with scientists and researchers using his paper artwork.
