The U.S. Coast Guard seized over $400 million worth of illegal drugs as part of their efforts to stop them from entering the United States and poisoning its communities. The agency has already seized almost $2 billion worth of cocaine and over 100,000 pounds of drugs so far this year.

The seizure includes 23,000 pounds of cocaine and nearly 9,000 pounds of marijuana. Altogether they’re worth over $400 million.

The U.S. Coast Guard says they stopped the drugs off the coasts of Mexico and Central and South America.

The guard blocked offending ships in the Eastern Pacific Ocean over 20 times. The U.S. Navy and foreign allies including the UK and Netherlands helped with the undertaking.
