Civil Rights Defender: America ‘Off Course’ When it Comes to Race

On Oct. 30, veteran civil rights activist Ward Connerly will make the case against affirmative action on the steps of the Supreme Court the day before SCOTUS hears arguments on two discrimination cases, one against Harvard the other against the University of North Carolina.

Connerly is a long-time critic of race-based discrimination at colleges. He’s president of the American Civil Rights Institute, author, and former University of California regent, where his battle began.

Why is Connerly making the trip to DC from California? “I’m going because I think my country is off course when it comes to the issue of race.” We talk about that and more.
